It’s been a while since I played this.
I can’t remember where or when I bought it
I do remember the first track I heard from the album. It was Fallen Angel, which features, one of my all-time heroes, Peter Gabriel. I heard it on Johnnie Walker‘s Saturday afternoon program on BBC Radio One.
Johnnie Walker is another one of my heroes, more of both him and Peter Gabriel in future posts.
Meanwhile back to Robbie Robertson. I seem to remember when the album was released, Somewhere Down That Crazy River was on a compilation tape I made.
Listening to the album again, it still sounds great. As well as the two tracks I’ve already mentioned, Broken Arrow is another standout track. Looking at the sleeve notes, I see that Manu Katche and Tony Levin, regular members of Peter Gabriel’s live band, appear on quite a few tracks.
